9/9/06 Club Christmas Party Set
The club christmas party has been scheduled for December 8th at the Fair Oaks Marriott, 11787 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, Fairfax, Virginia 22033, Phone: 703-352-2525 (click here for map) Cocktail hour begins at 6pm (cash bar). Dinner is served at 7pm. Cost $42.20 per person. Please email Kelly (kcarterjhk@aol.com) with your choice of cornish hen or crab cakes. Ho Ho Ho!

8/4/06 Volunteers Needed for Venture Quest 2006
This year the course will start and finish at Fountainhead which would be a great place to set up the trailer as everything would revolve around that parking lot. Volunteers from the club are needed to provide communications support. If interested, please contact Mike KD4LQS.

Thank you so much every one for providing me the opportunity to recieve this award. I could not have done this by myself. Thank you to those who have mentored me and helped me with testing sessions for myself and the Lake Braddock School Club. Thanks Ian N8IK for sticking with me with CW training and also suggesting that I should attempt Extra. This club has been a whole bunch of fun each and every time I see you all.

7/28/06 Club Member Winner of the ARRL HPM Award
Club member Jimmy Carter, KG4SGP is this year's Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Award winner! Sponsored by the American Radio Relay League, ARRL, the Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Award is given annually to a licensed radio amateur under the age of 21 who's accomplishments and contributions to both the community of Amateur Radio and the local community are of the most exemplary nature. The prize consists of a cash award and a suitably engraved plaque. Congratulations Jimmy!

7/25/06 Six Meter Net
Join us for the six meter net... guess it can be called the NV6net. Not official, but about a dozen hams come in and out on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. The frequency is 52.51 FM. The net is great for checking mobil rigs...
